About Plastiscines
Plastiscines are a female rock band from Saint-Cyr-l'École, France.
Katty, Marine and Louise met each other in Mansart highschool where they were three classmates with a special vintage look & rock attitude. They went to see some gigs and decided to form a band. Zazie provided the first place for them to perform music.
In 2004, they met Louise at a Libertines gig, who became the bassist. Et voila, the band was complete : Katty (singer & guitar), Marine (guitar), Louise (bass) and Zazie (drums).
Listening to The Beatles, they took their name "Plastiscines" from a line in "Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds".
March 2006 : They played as part of the young Parisian rock scene and 2 tunes were featured on the compilation "Paris Calling".
October 2006 : They signed with Virgin and began their first recording "LP1" (like "first LP", and "Les Plastiscines"). They are on tour throughhout France with the french group Indochine who have been around for 25 years.
February 2007 : LP1 is out, with good media exposure. They were on the cover of French magazine Rock&Folck and Citizen K, were featured twice on Taratata music show, were invited to Who's next 2006 festival and played for Paul Smith's parisian shop opening.
Zazie leaves the band.
