Photomatic

Photomatic, aka Marc dos Santos David, is a London based electronic artist. His eclectic fusion of sound, a cross between gritty undertone basslines, classical melodies and raw Techno is recognisable by an idiosyncratic use of distortion and draws inspiration from styles such as funk, alternative rock and early 80’s sonorities. This French-Portuguese musician, composer and producer was born in Lisbon, Portugal, in 1984, and lived in Angola until the age of 9, when he moved back to his home country and started studying violin and classical piano. Later on, he developed an interest in Jazz music and played piano and keyboards in several funk-rock bands. Photomatic currently lives in East London. With two EP releases under his belt, he is now preparing his debut album, as well as working on the paralel project “Gare D'ici” alongside English singer and musician Simon Middleton. Additionally, he often composes for and collaborates with dance, theatre, film and installation projects, and he’s the co-founder of the label “Somatic Records”. http://www.photomaticmusic.com
