About Pete Anderson

Pete Anderson: Multi-Platinum Grammy Award-Winning Producer/Guitarist Widely known as the musical backbone behind Dwight Yoakam, producer/arranger/guitarist Pete Anderson, whose name appears on more than 25 million records, has just released "Even Things Up," his fifth solo album. Pete Anderson is well known for his work with Dwight Yoakam, Roy Orbison, The Meat Puppets, Flaco Jimenez and other artists. He is widely recognized as a pioneer in the roots-rock genre and was an early champion of the Americana movement. Anderson had a hand in introducing the world to artists including Lucinda Williams, Jim Lauderdale, Michelle Shocked, Rosie Flores, and Adam Hood. Most recently he produced/arranged/and played guitar on Tanya Tucker's new "My Turn'' album for the Time Life Saguaro Road label. He is also a renowned bandleader who has appeared on Saturday Night Live, David Letterman and The Tonight Show (19 times since 1986). Pete has played over 3,000 live shows in more than 15 countries around the world. Anderson has worked as a producer, arranger, guitarist and songwriter for nearly all of the major labels as well as for his own Little Dog Records. This has resulted in a number of widely acclaimed albums in the country, folk, singer-songwriter, rock, pop, R&B, and Red Dirt genres of music. As a solo artist, his main focus has always been on his first musical passion: Blues. And speaking of the Blues, Pete was involved with Guitar Center and it's "King Of The Blues" contest. Pete wrote and produced 22 tracks for the backing CD and participated as the Musical Director at the competition itself for 2 years in a row. The “King of The Blues” contest was the largest of it’s kind in guitar history. Backed by years of critical and commercial success, Pete is now focusing his attention on his roots – and a solo career – by re-entering the blues world with a lifetime of experience behind him. Drawing on all his talents, multi-platinum Grammy Award winning producer, arranger, songwriter, guitarist, legendary bandleader, savvy instrument designer, and genuine "guitar hero" Pete Anderson has recorded a solo album featuring new, all original material. The CD entitled "Even Things Up" will be supported with extensive touring in the United States and Europe by Pete and his band. www.peteanderson.com
