About Odd Dimension

"The new album fully collects our feelings from the past two years of touring and composing after the release of Symmetrical" states the band about the creation process of the second album 'The Last Embrace to Humanity' out on March 26th by Scarlet Records. 'The Last Embrace to Humanity' sets new standards for the band, elevating their sound to a more mature level and recalling atmospheres by the classic Rock masters without losing the impact of their trademark Progressive approach. Lyrically, 'The Last Embrace To Humanity' is structured around an ambitious concept about the alienation of mankind, in an era in which everything tends to be severely damaged or even destroyed in the name of progress. A very special guest appearance by renowned singer Michele Luppi (Vision Divine, Secret Sphere, Thaurorod) in the song 'It's So Late' has also been announced. The album has been recorded at Domination Studios in San Marino, Odd Studios, Italy and MiLu’s Rock Lab II, Italy, between September and December 2012, mixed by Marco Barusso (Lacuna Coil, H.I.M.) and mastered by Alberto Cutolo at Massive Art Studios in Milan, Italy. The evocative artwork was handled by Carl Glover (Porcupine Tree) at Aleph Studio in London, UK. The album follows the recent European tour supporting Rhapsody of Fire which brought the band in Spain, France, Belgium (PPM Fest) and Switzerland. The tour closed with a guest appearance in Milan, Italy with Dragonforce. The sound voyage of the boys from Alessandria started in 2001 with the first steps towards the joining of their fondness in the metal music in its different expressions, from classic to progressive, genre their first compositions are oriented to. "It wasn't easy joining all the different compositive drives of those days together", states Gigi Andreone, bass player of the band, going back with his memories to his first sessions with Federico Pennazzato (drums), Gianmaria Saddi (guitar) and Antonio Agate (keyboards), which were characterized from the very beginning by the will to unite harmonically their different background. After a reorganization as Antonio left the band, their musical route became more complete with the arrival of Manuel Candiotto on vocals. Their ideas materialized in late 2005 with their first EP "A New Dimension" , well acclaimed by critics. This was followed up by an intense live and rehearsal activity, about which the band says "It has been a very exciting period, pushed by the good reviews and feedbacks received by our first EP we decided to mix our progressive soul with a more direct sound and more complex lyrics". Soon afterwards, the arrival of Gabriele Ciaccia on keyboards overlaps with the beginning of the work on their first full length album. These sessions give birth to a promo cd which anticipated the album that pushes the band to warm up the engines for the making of their first album "Symmetrical". Recorded and produced by Gianmaria and Gigi in the band's own studio, the record has been mixed at Thin Ice Studios – Surrey, UK by Threshold's guitarist and great sound engineer Karl Groom (renowned for his work with bands like Yes and Dragonforce) and mastered in Milan, Italy by Alberto Cutolo at Massive Art Studios. The artwork was released by Abstrata Studios , Brazil and realized by the genius of Gustavo Sazes (still acclaimed for his work with acts like Kamelot, Angra, Lauren Harris, Archenemy). Since November 2010 the band has started a strong collaboration with the famous Italian label Scarlet Records that will lead them to the release in april 2011 of their awaited debut "Symmetrical", actually distributed worldwide by Audioglobe - E1. Odd Dimension had also the honour to be featured in March 2011 issue of legendary 'Classic Rock Presents Prog' UK sampler with their single 'The Ecstasy Of Hopes'. Stay tuned!
