About Occult Wisdom

Born out of the ashes of previous mind-bending rock outfits Chief Nowhere and Dzjenghis Khan is Los Angeles band, Occult Wisdom. Guitarist Spencer Jacob Grau, drummer Andy Campanella, and bassist David Ure formed this power trio rooted in the classics of eras gone by, but without limitation and with dynamic variation. Bringing together a variety of influences from the heavy days of the late '60s and early '70s, the power trio weaves together a tapestry of heavy riffs, spacey tones, and groovy rhythms, often with the use of dual vocalists and harmonies. They have played live up and down the West Coast, sharing bills with the likes of Hot Lunch, Fatso Jetson, Mondo Generator, and even the Stooges. Noted for their live performances and willingness to improvise and take risks, this is a band who has been described as engaging, compelling, and sometimes chaotic. With the addition of Donovan Hernandez on bass, the trio looks to continue working on their second album (halfway done!) and tour domestically and abroad. Psychedelic, Prog, Rock N Roll band. Feat: Dzjenghis Khan guitarist Spencer Grau and Chief Nowhere drummer Andy Campanella.
