If you ever have listened to George aka Notsocommon Dj mixing, he certainly has drawn your attention with his style that, as his name says is far from being „common’’ . For him music is much more than a passion. It’s a life style that he cultivates very carefuly.The influences that you cannot ignore in his style are very diverse.From The Prodigy –he is a declared fan- to The Cure.From Kraftwerk to James Zabiela. From Pink Floyd to Radiohead. From New Order and Joy Division to Chemical Brothers and Moderat. The list is so diverse and impossible to end and this strenghtens the quotation that in order to become a really good dj, besides techinques, you have to have a solid musical culture,a lesson that Notsocommon has taken for granted. He started mixing in 2006 at Cool Cat where every Thursday night you could see him behind the desk.Also in 2006 he played in the legendary Web Club with Marika.Since then new locations followed such as Expirat and The Other Side of Expirat, Fratelli, Embryo, Mash-up, Sub Bufet, La Blanca, Propaganda, Space, Kulturhaus, Sex Tower Underground Power, Penisula Festival(2009), Palatul Universul. The variety of styles that he uses in his sets does nothing more than to confirm his versatile dj,capable of mixing booty and funky breaks, but also electro and industrial, passing through alternative indie,mashups, dubstep and getting to house and techno. Up to this point he has two nominations to the Nights awards at the categories „The best debutant dj” si „The greatest rise”. In 2009 he debutated on the air at Radio Bucharest, being the host of the show Electrocord,aired every Wednesday,the first show of electronic music at that station, succeding also the performance of being the youngest among his radio colleagues.Among his guests in the show he had romanian and foreign artists such as: Junkyard; Marika; Unu; TRG; The Model; Ok Coral; VRT; Mesmer; Adrian Patrascu; Negru; Michi etc; Foreign: Elite Force; A-Skillz; Meat Katie; Atomic Hooligan (Terry). https://soundcloud.com/notso-commondj https://hearthis.at/electrocord
