NO SHAME-(punkrock,Finland)
These four guys all come from a small town called Salo. There between the Nokia factories, empty supermarkets and depressing karaoke-bars they have tried to find a way out by playing the music they love. Their wide range of influences and the four very different individuals in the band have helped them to create an identifiable sound of their own. Mixing rage, catchy choruses, melancholy and well-thought-off socially conscious lyrics.
They have worked really hard the last years relying on good songs and absolutely fierce live shows and have risen to be one of the most popular punk bands in Finland at the moment. They have played lots of free shows, sold their albums for 2 euros and have a limit for the ticket prices to show they aren’t in this just for the money. They are the only band in the label to have complained about getting too much money! They got nothing against being known, but are not willing to compromise their ideals for commercial success. This means 100% artistic control, no to major labels and no to myspace.
Their latest album is called White of hope-turning Black. It talks about the painful conflicts of our lives and about the black state of the society we are living in…
…but always with that spark of hope in there somewhere -encouraging activity instead of nihilism.
