About Nick Collings Music Encyclopedia

This is the page for EVERYTHING Nick Collings. I update this fan page daily with audio links, playlists and musical/pop culture banter! Nick Collings has been a vivid part of the Auckland, New Zealand dance scene for nearly two decades now. He is one of the most passionate and knowledgeable deejays when it comes to the appreciation of dance music as a whole. Nick Collings is somewhat of an enigma of the Auckland dance scene having achieved what most other people in the industry won’t do in a lifetime, from DJing at most of the major brands since 1997, promoting some of the most diverse and niche events in both the all ages and R18 scenes, having hosted 4 different radio shows across various styles of dance music, having been at the forefront of music distribution for other deejays with his record store “Criminal Records” (1998 – 2008), having been the General Manager at dance music station UP FM (www.upfm.dj) from April 2009 to May 2013 and in the role as the online content editor for Hark Entertainment (October 2013 to May 2014) the company that published New Zealand’s longest running entertainment publication Rip It Up (ripitup.co.nz) and NZ’s only bi-weekly street press Groove Guide. Nick instigated the double page spread “This Month In Clubland” dedicated to delivering articles and interviews on electronic music for Rip It Up between May 2013 until the end of 2015. Between February 2015 to January 2016 Nick co-hosted “In It For The Kicks”, Radio Hauraki’s first ever nationwide electronic radio show in the stations 49 year history, alongside New Zealand DJing legend Greg Churchill and in March 2015 began his own passion project “Not Write For Radio” an online podcast that pulls back the curtain and interviews in great depth notable figures in the local and international music scene. Nick is still an active DJ but has focused his energy to more behind the scenes aspects of music, media and online content. Usually when you read a bio it’s full of inflated truths and clichés. Nicks speak facts with experience to back it up. That is what makes Nick Collings just that little bit special. Nick Collings is a musical Anomaly. LIKE this page to view DJ playlists but more so to see what crazy throwbacks right across every genre he comes up with.
