Music Bones

MUSIC BONES is a high-energy rock band based out of Los Angeles. They play music from the heart that hits you in the gut and makes you move your feet. The band consists of primary members Sara Haile-Mariam (drums and vocals) and Mike Sutjipto (guitar), with Lee Stafford on bass. Sara and Mike started writing music together in the hot and humid DC summer of 2013. With Mike's finger-fancy acoustic guitar moves and Sara's soft, expressive voice, the duo wrote songs on their respective back porches and soon started playing out at small acoustic gigs around DC. Before they knew it, and with the help of mentor and blues hero Beverly "Guitar" Watkins, their musical interests shifted towards American roots and blues. Sara picked up the drums and Mike pushed his guitar amp harder than ever before. Over the span of a few months, Mike and Sara transformed their sound into their own brand of in-your-face rock and roll and haven't looked back since. Music Bones is a rock band.
