Mr. Hill

The Duo Mr Hill & Rahjconkas formed late 2011 when the pairs musical paths crossed. A mutual respect for each other’s style was already apparent and it wasn’t long after exchanging a few songs they knew they had something special. As an official duo they began writing music for their first first album 'The Feedback'. The first single “Warning Signs” instantly attracted the attention of the Australian Hip Hop community receiving high praises from genre heavyweights such as Drapht and The Funkoars. They created a demo of original songs and received a nation wide distribution deal from Australian Hip Hop icon “Obese Records”. Their hard work began and only 5 months later released their debut LP which hosts a strong support from some of Australian Hip Hop’s most established artists such as: Jeswon(Thundamentals) | Trials (The Funkoars) | Hau (Koolism) | Chance Waters | The Tongue | Joyride (Spit Syndicate) It was well received and set the bar for songs to come for the pair. After constant shows and tours they came back proving to the people that they are here to stay and a strong force in the music scene in terms of quality and productivity with the release of the single “Put The Work In” only months after the first album release. Triple J awarded this song the winner of the Sprung Hip Hop Festival Unearthed comp and they received a chance to perform. They were named Unearthed feature artists and the downloads started flooding in. With regular air play the single became increasingly popular and invitations to tour came along with it. Touring with the likes of Illy, Seth Sentry, The Funkoars and Drapht. Australia became familiar with the highly energetic and skillful duo's live performance. 5 months after the release of “Put The Work In” they had finished and released their sophomore album "Dead End Street" which again took the pairs creativity and originality to new levels. With 2 albums released in 2 years they are proof that hard work pays off. None can disregard their passion and drive for making music by constantly pushing the boundaries of Hip Hop as a genre and striving for a truly unique sound. MH&RC have again begun constructing new music with the creation of their 3rd album which will see them taking on a more mature roll as songwriters and really setting themselves apart in the industry as innovators. Placing firm guidelines down for the new direction and sound they have taken on a more composition based roll and hit the studio together to create songs from the ground up. The sound is like nothing you’ve ever heard from the genre in Australia and is sure to turn more heads and gain audiences by the masses.
