About Morpheus Descends

Morpheus Descends line-up on "Ritual of Infinity" consists of Rob Yench -(Guitars), Steve Hanson -(Guitars),Ken Faggio-(Bass),Sam Inzerra-(Drums) & Jeff (RIP) Riemer -(Vocals). Morpheus are accredited with creating N.Y.D.M (New York Style Death Metal) which to this day is as strong as ever with a West Coast Chapter headed by Jeff Beccera,(Possessed's Bassist/vocalist). They were signed with J.L. America upon the first release of this destined to be classic. J.L. fell through as most smaller labels did at the end of the 1980's & early 1990's. The production of this album is not the greatest (6 out of 10) but the musical concept and sheer magnitude of the integration of downtuning, obliterating scores of atmospheric mutation make this a must have. I seen these guys back in the day with Forbidden, Malevolent Creation,Legion.Previous & latter works - Volitile Zylog, Decomposed,Dead Speak, Mausoleum. An onstage impression never forgotten. These guys started the pendullum swinging along with bands like Suffocation,Immolation, Cannible Corpse.
Morpheus' 2nd release, "Chronicals of The Shadowed Ones" did not get the deserved promotion it needed. Spanish label Xtreem Music recently repressed the band's full-length Ritual Of Infinity along with their first 7" EP, Adipocere, (vocally represented by Craig Campbell, undead & torn esophogal approach a 10/10.)
Morpheus Descends live!! Hail Horned Moon Music & Dark Horizon Records for staying sick!!!(Go to Dark Horizon website for an unbelievable multitude of hard to find underground music and kller merchandise.
"Ritual of Infinity" is a masterpiece.
