Having spent the last few years cultivating modern Bay Area-Hip Hop sounds as a producer/engineer Monk has already worked with the likes of Paul Wall, San Quinn, Freeway, Mozzy, Messy Marv, Equipto, Zion I, Michael Marshall & Lil B. Monk has switched his hand from solely producing to putting his lyrical abilities on the map as well. With his debut project, "Safe Travels" Monk elevates the local sound and culture with raw talent and ability both as a music producer and a rap artist. Meshing live instruments—from acoustic strings and guitars, to trumpet solos and unique percussion—with samples from soul, jazz, funk, and rock genres in classic Hip Hop style, Monk’s music provides refreshing crisp flavor and soul, as well as an artistic vision that takes whomever is listening on a journey through the San Francisco streets.
