MONELLI PUNKROCK

"I Monelli" were formed in Turin, Italy, in the early '90s, when two brothers Vinci (vocals, guitar) and Anto (drums) decided together with July, their cousin, (bass) to play punk rock. After some time they recorded the first demo "I Monelli", 10 songs of fast and melodic punk rock, with italian lyrics. A few months later six of these songs were made part of the 7'' "La Mia Ragazza è una metallara" out on Mad Driver Records. After a break and a change in the line-up with Luca (vocals, bass from Bombardini) instead of July, the guys recorded "Stupida Storia d'Amore", released as DIY CD, completely self-produced. To promote the release,the guys played around almost all Italy, until, for many reasons the band didn't play anymore as "I Monelli". Only the reunion-show of the 2008, gave the desire to the two brothers, Vinci and Anto, to go back into the studio to record a new album. This happened in December of 2010, when they recorded "Il Tempo Non Ritornerà". The album was recorded entirely by the two brothers, 14 songs of simple and fast Ramonescore. Since October 2011, Andrea joined on bass: with the line-up finally complete, the guys are starting to work in the rehearsal room towards coming back on stage, to promote the last album and also revive old classics of the band. After a few of gigs around the North of Italy, in April of 2012 returned to the studio to record two new songs that will end in December of the same year in the international cd-split "Wargames" with Carbonas (Brazil), Lili Champ (Chile ) and Rock N Roll Television (Canada). The same 2 song, in May of 2013, ended up in a 7'' with genoese friends Goonies. During April 2014, for Ramones 40th Anniversary, we released a cover of Ramones classic hit: Judy is a Punk for "1​,​2​,​3​,​4 I Cretini saltano ancora: An Italian Tribute to the Ramones" out for RocketMan Records. Gabba Gabba. ------------------------ ITALIANO ------------------------ I Monelli si formano a Torino nei primi anni ‘90, quando 2 fratelli Vinci (voce,chitarra) e Anto(batteria) decidono con loro cugino July (basso) di iniziare a suonare punk-rock. Dopo qualche tempo registrano la loro prima demo “I Monelli”, 10 canzoni di punk rock veloce e melodico cantato in italiano. Sei di queste canzoni andranno a comporre il 7” La mia ragazza è una metallara uscito per la Mad driver records qualche mese dopo. Dopo una pausa e un cambio di formazione ,Luca (voce-basso Bombardini) al posto di July, i Monelli registrano “Stupida storia d’amore",uscito sotto forma di cd pirata completamente autoprodotto. Iniziano così a suonare nuovamente in giro per l’Italia, fino a quando per svariati motivi decidono di non portare più avanti il progetto Monelli. Solo la reunion del 2008, fa tornare la voglia ai due fratelli Vinci e Anto di tornare in studio per un nuovo album.Questo accade nel dicembre del 2010 ,dove registrano “Il tempo non ritornerà”.L’album viene registrato interamente dai due fratelli ,14 pezzi semplici e veloci in stile Ramones. Da Ottobre 2011, si unisce al basso Andrea: con la line-up finalmente completa, I Monelli iniziano a lavorare in saletta per l'imminente ritorno sui palchi per promuovere l'ultimo disco e riproporre anche i vecchi classici della band. Dopo una serie di concerti in giro per il Nord Italia, nell' Aprile del 2012 ritornano in studio per registrare due nuovi pezzi che nel dicembre dello stesso anno finiranno nello split cd internazionale "Wargames" con i Carbonas (Brasile), Lili Champ (Cile) e Rock N Roll Television (Canada). Gli stessi 2 pezzi, nel Maggio del 2013, sono finiti in un 7'' con gli amici genovesi Goonies. Ad Aprile 2014, abbiamo registrato la cover di Judy is a Punk, per celebrare il 40esimo anniversario dei Ramones ed è presente nel tributo "1​,​2​,​3​,​4 I Cretini saltano ancora: An Italian Tribute to the Ramones" pubblicato dalla RocketMan Records.
