About Michael Blackwell
Michael Blackwell is a singer-songwriter, multi instrumentalist and producer from Seaham, County Durham, UK. With years of experience under his belt as a touring musician and a songwriter, he is now ready to embark on his own solo journey. Drawing from a range of influences, Blackwell’s sound combines classic singer-songwriter, 90’s grunge, 00’s indie and modern alt-pop.
Learning guitar at a young age, Michael was inspired by his father's record collection, listening to the likes of Led Zeppelin, The Police and The Beatles. As he grew, he became obsessed with a lot of bands and artists from the 90’s such as Radiohead, Jeff Buckley, Soundgarden, Nirvana and Stone Temple Pilots cementing his love for guitar and songwriting.
Following a string of single releases receiving critical acclaim from CLASH magazine, Wonderland magazine and NOTION to name a few, Blackwell announces his a run of headline shows in Europe and the UK.
