About Mechanigod

Mechanigod was formed by Orel Malool (Guitars) and Marom Shemesh (Drums) during 2008 in Ramat-Gan,Israel. The two started playing long jam sessions together. After they both saw potential in their doing, they took it one step forward, striving to become a serious, dedicated and permanent band. During 2009, other members were added to the band, thus making it far more active. The members for that period were Ofir Tadmor (Bass), Tal Massiah (Guitars), Eylon Bart (Vocals), Orel Malool (Guitars), Marom Shemesh (Drums and Percussion). Later on the group started performing in small local venues with other bands such as: "Matricide", "Missing in Action", "WhiteNoise" and more. Towards the end of 2011, the band entered the studio to record their debut album, later to be named: "Realms". The album was recorded, mixed and produced by Daniel Strosberg in "Keoss Studios". Mastering was done by Jens Borgen from "Fascination Street Studios" (Katatonia, Opeth, Devin Townsend, to name just a few). The album was released online on 21/12/14, and later on physical discs were available. "Realms" was not meant to be a concept album, but during the recording the album was consolidated into a whole piece, with lyrical integrity that follows a story of a man torn by internal struggles between body and soul, while seeking his own personality finding his own solace at last. The name "Realms" was chosen because the band sees each song as a unique realm for which the listener can connect to either musically or lyrically. The album got a couple of reviews from several web sites which contributed to the exposure of the album and the band. In the first quarter of 2014 the band parted ways with Tal Massiah, after an internal struggle that became a mutual decision. A couple of months after, Avishay Farkash joined the band to fill in Tal`s place. During May 2014, the band participated in a local Metal competition called "Metal battle IL 2014". The band made it to the final alongside groups such as "Matricide", "Magor", "Shiver", and "Chugun". It was always difficult for the band members to classify themselves into a specific sub-genre in the metal scene. As well they avoid categorizing sub-genre in general, and prefer to let the music speak for itself to the listeners. Official Facebook page of Mechanigod, metal band from Ramat-Gan-Tel Aviv, Israel.
