Maya Vik

Bass player and vocalist Maya Vik lays down a fresh brand of sexy neo funk/disco with her steamy vocals and thumping bass lines. Years of hard work has paid off for Maya which includes winning a Norwegian “Grammy” with her previous band Montée, playing in Savoy with a-Ha’s Paul Waaktaar, opening for Lenny Kravitz, and touring the US (including opening for Dam-Funk and a three month residency at Pianos, NYC), Japan, Russia, Holland, and Germany with her own trio. After releasing more two albums worth of critically acclaimed material in two short years, an EP with collaborations with Dawn Richard, Little Pain and Morgan Phalen, and an EP with tracks presented to the US market, Maya Vik currently is sitting on a trove of new jams set for release throughout 2014/15. The upcoming album features production from a dream team of Norwegian and US producers, including Lindstrøm, Funkin Matt, Mathias Stubø (Proviant Audio), William Idap (Nico & Vince’s “Am I Wrong”), Pat Lukens and her long time collaborators Basmo Family. The album is to be released in 2015, preceeded by a new EP in late 2014, new Japanese tour, and gigs in Russia, US and her native Norway. Official Facebook page for Maya Vik
