About Mark Seale

Mark Seale has been making music for over 30 years. Beginning Suzuki lessons at 5 years old, Mark continued classical studies alongside Texas style contest fiddling for the next 15 years, winning many championships along the way. In college, Mark joined a honky-tonk dance band, then began performing on the Texas Music circuit with Roger Creager.
Mark is currently developing new styles with a focus on the intricate craft of master jazz violinists Stephane Grappelli and Stuff Smith. He is also exploring interesting harmonies coming out of the newgrass/jazzgrass genre championed on fiddle by Darol Anger. Mark continues to participate in Texas-style contest fiddling competing and judging and is a former president and current board member of the Texas Old Time Fiddler’s Association.

Recently relocated back to Houston, Mark is active in the Houston music scene, playing bluegrass, country and western, swing, and jazz. He is looking forward to developing new sounds and ideas both on fiddle and mandolin in a new, highly creative city full of amazing musicians.
