About Marchan Noelle

"My intention to create music is to expand your realm and give you a glimpse into mine." A blur of drifting around Texas, California, Arizona, and more states in Mexico than in her home country of the USA, certainly gave Marchan Noelle the gypsy spirit and appreciation for perspective that is so evident in the lyrics she writes. she has been enticed by the power of music since babyhood. Chills from hearing Clapton and Hendrix guitar solos while still in diapers made it clear to her family that music was in her future as well as in her blood… After moving to Mexico and being gifted a nylon string acoustic guitar for her 14th birthday, she quickly developed her own alternate tuning and, by ear, began to teach herself theme songs from her favorite television shows. Playing guitar was the only activity she had; being home schooled since the age of 10, in addition to living in a foreign country with no friends her age, she spent hours learning songs and composing instrumentals. Following the beginning stages of guitar playing, she tapped into her ability of signing and writing songs. This was just the start of crafting a style all her own. The feat of conquering her fear of performing in front of an audience was accomplished by attending open mics in Tempe, Arizona, which hails the ASU campus, after returning from Mexico with her mother. Since that time, she's had a love for being onstage. She and her mother moved back "home" to Hermosa Beach, California, where Marchan Noelle finished the last year and a half of public school at Mira Costa High School in Manhattan Beach. With the grand opportunity of being under the direction of award-winning choral director Michael Hayden, she was invaluably instructed on the art of singing, as well as the importance of a whole-hearted performance. In the fall of 2011, directly after graduation from Mira Costa, she was accepted into the Guitar Program at the Musician's Institute Hollywood. During this time, her songwriting and musicality took flight. The door of opportunity was flung off the hinges for connecting with talented musicians, and this lead to taking on numerous live performances in the entertainment capital of the world: Hollywood, California. The release of her self-produced final project from MI's Independent Artist Program came in Spring 2013, entitled Dreaming Wide Awake. This sparked a new interest: the exciting process of the production of music. Marchan Noelle received her Associate of Arts Degree in Guitar Performance and Independent Artist the summer of 2013. Her next endeavor was enrolling in the 2014 Audio Engineering program at Musician's Institute. Now with a certificate of Audio Engineering along with substantial knowledge of the recording process, she anticipates someday designing her own home studio to produce more original material. Following her July graduation from the Musician's Institute, Marchan Noelle began recording her debut album as well as planning her first tour. The California Coast Road Trip Tour (part I) kicked off on September 27, 2014, on Main Street in Ventura, CA, in correlation with 100,000 Poets for Change and their Global Event Day for Change. The focus of the tour was to bring about awareness and fundraising for the charity organization No Kid Hungry. For the remainder of September until October 27th, Marchan Noelle traveled north up the California coast, busking on the busy streets of some of California's most bustling beach cities. It was documented on the 100,000 Poets for Change blog, Youtube in the form of live performance videos, and on her Instagram page. Part II, the southern California leg of the tour, is set for Spring 2016, with a Kickstarter campaign in the works to cover tour costs. With her debut album The Witching Hour (Acoustic) released in October of 2014, came a lot of love for the bluesy acoustic rock track 5, "Mystery Man". Most requested at live shows, Mystery Man was chosen to be featured in the Women of Substance Radio & Podcast, as well as named a Top 20 Indie Song the month of February 2015 on WOS.com. Most recently, a live acoustic version of the song earned Marchan Noelle a spot as a finalist and one of 6 runners up in the first international Recording Festival, out of more than 150 entries from all over the globe. For six months in 2015, she was a resident performer Sunday evenings at Burbank's new music showcase, The Crystal Jam. From there she went on to become one of five new street performers to be brought on at Universal Studios City Walk Hollywood, performing on the bustling City Walk promenade several times a week. On September 9th, Marchan Noelle journeyed for six weeks across the United States and Europe on the Why Not The World Tour, performing in places such as New York City, Nashville, London, and Naples. The trek is being documented into mini movies on a new Youtube channel, The Hippie Vlogs. Marchan Noelle also released her new single "Time Zone" in celebration of the tour. Constantly creating, she has recently launched her startup production company, 2nd Generation Hippie, LLC. She and her team are in production of a documentary series, chronicling the behind-the-scenes struggles and triumphs independent artists live with day-to-day, on their journeys to realizing their dreams.
