About Mandy Brooks Band

Mandy Brooks grew up with a mother who was a professional singer. She began sitting in with her mom's bands and learning about the industry from 10 yo. Throughout her teens and twenties, she studied music in high school, college, performed on various audio and visual projects in the studio as well as live groups and ensembles including The Jimmy Scott Band, Blues Baby & Good Thing. Mandy has taught piano, voice and band workshops at Yamaha Music School, Irvine, CA; Moody Music, Anaheim, CA.

2017 marked the year of her debut album release, "Move on Up". Since this release, Mandy has continued to write, record, and release original songs and as well as perform nationally with her family band “Small Hat” who are currently in the recording studio preparing to release their second EP due out for release April 2021.

As well as performing live, Mandy has a passion for songwriting. Mandy was chosen as a “top ten” finalist and prize winner in the 2019 Creative Sonoma Next Level songwriting contest, was runner up and prize winner in Nashville Rising Song, awarded in 2017 from the West Coast Songwriters, and commissioned in 2018 to write a song “Common Ground” in commemoration of the 2017 Tubbs fire.

Both Christian Creative Collective and Women in Music Collective were founded by Mandy Brooks in 2017 and has since produced a benefit concert in 2018 as well as donated instruments to women, to Verity and the Ronnie Martin Foundation. In 2019 Mandy was asked to speak on behalf of the collective for the Women’s March in Santa Rosa in front of 3,500 people, and as moderator for the Women in the Music Industry Panel for the 2020 & 2021 Balanced Breakfast Music Summit in San Francisco, CA.

In 2016 Mandy founded Christian Creative, a collective of artists and industry professionals supporting each other as they share their gifts and talents within their communities and the world at large.

2018 Mandy won the female artist of the year for the Christian/Gospel category for the Josie Music Awards in Nashville and was on the 2018 Grammy award “For Consideration” List. Her family band, Small Hat was nominated in multi categories in the 2019 & 2020 Josie Music Awards.

Mandy has a passion for helping other musicians achieve their goals and making a positive change through community through her songs and her music. Singing, playing guitar and keyboard, writing songs and utilizing the gift of music to make a difference in individuals and communities is a driving force behind the music and life of Mandy Brooks.
