About Lazarus Syndrome

Although only formed in March 2011, Lazarus Syndrome have already achieved great recognition and acclaim. The highlight, playing Download Festival 2012. The idea of the band came about in January 2011 when guitarists Mike & Jamie, both drawn to Liverpool by its musical heritage, sought to form a band that played something different from the host of local metal bands. The duo began to write music inspired by the European melodic metal scene rather than what was typically available in the UK. They immediately hired drummer Dave to work on the songs, followed a couple of months later by bass player Tom and singer Pete. This was the point that Lazarus Syndrome became a reality. The band had a number of songs finished in a matter of weeks and not ones to rest on their laurels decided it was time to enter the studio to record their first E.P. In mid-April the band began work on the recording for what was to become ‘Flatline’ featuring the band’s first 4 tracks. The recording was an experience which not only cemented them as one of the hardest and quickest working bands around, but also drove them to achieve much more. The band then concentrated on playing gigs and writing more songs while the recordings were being mixed and mastered. Lazarus Syndrome spent 2011 gaining great reviews and being asked to play headline sets in places such as Bradford Rio’s. One review stating Pete’s voice as “one of the most amazing voices I have heard in years... not only can this guy growl with the best of the death metallers but he can also actually sing!”. In early October the band’s debut E.P. 'Flatline' (containing the songs ‘Forsaken‘, ‘Devoured by Conflict‘ ‘A Path Less Traveled‘ and ‘Blameless Creator‘ was mastered and released to the public (It can be listened to on Spotify, iTunes etc.). The band signed a press deal with Skratch the Surface to promote the EP and it has already gained great reviews. In their short career already agreed an Endorsement with Mayones. At the end of 2011, drummer Dave left to concentrate on his career, despite this 2011 had been a great year for the band. Lazarus Syndrome barely broke stride and in early 2012 recruited Matt Gregson to the sticks. Matt brought with him a wealth of experience and a new element to the sound. 2011 had been a great year for the band but 2012 would prove to be even better, the band being asked to return to Bradford to play the annual Dragonfest. The band played many other festivals including the inaugural Out of the Ashes festival. They were also invited to play at the Download Festival 2012 gaining great review, which was clearly a highlight of the young band's career. In 2014 the band plan to release their as yet untitled debut Album as well as gig widely. Look out for them in a venue near you! Formed in March 2011 Lazarus Syndrome are a Melodic Metal band based in Liverpool.
