LauraDoll

Born and raised in southern Ontario, Canada, LauraDoll grew up listening to the music of the 50's, 60's, 70's and 80's, as well as blues and country artists throughout the various decades. Later, inspired by the likes of Hole and L7 and the entire "riotgrrl" movement, she decided to start learning the guitar at the age of 13. Having jammed with a lot of friends throughout her teenage years, she never joined a band until 2004 when she met Jasper James in a recording studio in Burlington, ON. At that point, LauraDoll bought a bass and joined Jasper's band in full-force. LauraDoll and Jasper began writing and performing together shortly after. LauraDoll’s passion for various styles of music expanded upon Jasper’s songwriting. Jasper and LauraDoll formed In My Coma in 2007 and began working with producer Trevor Kustiak, but the band went through many changes before they finally solidified their three-piece lineup with the addition of Mike Paterson on drums in 2009. IMC’s debut album is appropriately titled Magnets & Miracles. In My Coma seeks to experiment with their musical adventure. The album will each be a collection of interrelated songs about darkness and human connection, with formidable elements of heavy rhythmic rock and electronic sampling.
