Laura Bretan

I suspect that anyone reading this is well aware of Miss Bretan's mesmerizing and versatile voice, commitment to her religion and deep spirituality. The benefit concert in New Orleans was my first in-person experience with her and it was amazing, as expected. Impressively, she sang 15 pieces in perfect voice throughout. Afterward, she made herself available to meet with her audience for an individual moment plus posing for photographs. I found it charming watching her younger brother scurrying about videotaping the event and even got a glimpse of her ever-present but mainly out of sight mother in the wings. On one of the very early recordings when Laura was a little girl, there was a small segment where, I choose to believe, her mother sang harmony. Has Mom ever emerged from the wings to sing a duet with her daughter? Her's is indeed a very special family and they are all a gift from God. As they say, give "Praises to the Lord."
