About Lane-Harry x Ike Campbell

For years Australian Hip-Hop has been stigmatised and unappreciated on an international scale, Lane-Harry x Ike Campbell are here to change the perception of rap in Australia. Fusing grand scale production, lush melodies & captivating lyrics, these two twenty year olds are the frontier of the reimagined Australian Hip-Hop sound. The pair is mentored by 360, the biggest artist in Australian Hip-Hop, who has very publically praised the duo’s new sound and has introduced his own audience to their new wave. Lane-Harry x Ike Campbell have also dominated live shows across the country supporting massive names such as Tech N9ne, Allday, David Dallas, Tkay Maidza & many more. Lane-Harry, originally from New Zealand, grew up listening to Lauryn Hill, The Beatles & Kanye West and began writing songs and playing guitar at age 11, however he only began rapping after attending an all-ages 360 show when he was 16. “I was so inspired by how the crowd reacted to Sixty” he proclaims “I wrote my first rap on the train ride home”. Lane went on to play bass & write lyrics for an indie band who would later kick him out of the band for “holding them back”, this end of the road for Lane’s music was actually in turn the birth of Lane-Harry x Ike Campbell. Ike never originally intended to follow a career in music, in high school he was topping all his classes and a year out of school was kicking off a degree in aerospace engineering. Ike, a naturally incredibly talented musician, played piano for enjoyment but never considered making his own songs until toward the end of high school but even then it was just for fun. Once Lane was kicked out of the band; Lane & Ike, two high school friends, started jamming and very quickly discovered their compatibility as a rapper and producer. They put several tracks together which ignited Ike’s love for producing, he almost immediately dropped out of university to begin perfecting his production craft. In their inceptive year they met Gold Coast producer Guy Cooper, head of Human Records, who was instantly hooked on their vivid sound. He engineered their first project “Love & Terror Cult” then signed them to his label the following year. Their debut release with Guy Cooper’s Human Records was the critically acclaimed album “Renaissance” which featured GCMA Song of the Year winning single “Anarchy”. Tracks from the album went on to be featured on Channel [V], Acclaim Magazine, Tonedeaf & many more media outlets. Lane-Harry x Ike Campbell’s sound is influenced by artists like Kanye West, Travi$ Scott, Pusha T & Drake and have a fanbase that is growing larger and larger with each release. The twenty year olds have been endlessly working on a new album titled “BURN HOLLYWOOD, BURN” for several months now and are eager to continue making the highest quality music to drive for the project to be their magnum opus. They have released three commercially and critically successful singles from the record so far “Netflix”, “San Luca” & “Rendezvous”. The three songs are accompanied with ground-breaking visuals directed by Swedish filmmaker Nils Nilsson (Pirates of the Caribbean, San Andreas) There are three more visually stunning music videos from the project to be released. The ethereal soundscape of Lane-Harry x Ike Campbell is not to be missed, an act that will go down as one of the defining sounds at the forefront of the golden era of music in Australia. The two charismatic young men plan on breaking past all creative glass ceilings and influence the artists of the future. Not only are they delivering gorgeous sounds and visuals but their mesmerising fashion, emerging celebrity status & wild personalities are making them true game changers. Generation Y has a new face and that face is that of Lane-Harry x Ike Campbell.
