Lamp Shade Betty

Lamp Shade Betty was formed in early 2013 by guitarist Casey Weishaar and vocalist Benny Schriener, who were joined shortly after by brother Noah Schriener on drums. They began writing songs with the intention of bringing the shredding guitar lines and wide vocal harmonies of 80s metal into a modern context. After accumulating around 10 songs, they began playing out around the Twin Cities. With a bass player situation not unlike that of Spinal Tap’s drummers, the band decided to continue on as a 3-piece, with Benny on bass. With enough material for a full-length album, the band joined forces with YouTube personality/music producer Jonathan Young and recorded their debut album. Recording took place over the course of 2014 in the basement of Benny and Noah. During the process, they came in contact with Trey Gust, formerly of Dirtee Circus and he joined the band shortly thereafter, finishing up the album on bass. The album was released at Halfway Jam music festival, summer of 2015. Lamp Shade Betty has since become of a staple of festivals such as Rocklahoma, Halfway Jam, and Moondance Jam. They are currently set to start writing a follow up album, and planning their summer 2016 tour. We're bringing rock n roll back to the Twin Cities.
