LAMA Live

LAMA Live is a Denver-based progressive rock / hip-hop band formed in 2011 known for their high-energy live shows. Their unique sound combines East Coast lyric-based hip hop layered over melodic guitar-heavy post-rock. The band strives toward a meaningful genre collaboration to develop a live music experience that is passionate and distinctive. While the concept is not new, the product certainly is. This is not rap or rock or the rap-rock reminiscent of 1999. This is something different. It is music with heart, power, and a little ambition. The seven piece Denver based band is headed by New York hip-hop artists Namm and Ha Boogie. The vocals are set over guitar heavy progressive rock (Matthew Shaw and Aaron Willoughby), complimented and accented by synthesizer (Levi Smith), and the whole sound is anchored by rock steady bass (TJ Wethington) and drums (Chris Doxtator). Matthew and Levi broaden the vocal dynamic of the band with hooks and harmonies. Lama Live has shared the stage with very impressive company: The Getto Boys, Hed P.E., Vanilla Ice, and the finest that Denver's hip-hop scene has to offer. Collaboration at it's absolute best.
