About Kobiety

Kobiety was created by Grzegorz Nawrocki and Anna Lasocka in Tricity (Gdansk-Sopot-Gdynia), Poland in the spring of 1999.

Together with Przemek Momot on percussion and a few guest musicians, Kobiety recorded their first album Kobiety, released by an independent label Biodro Records, in December 2000. During the following two years the group played concerts with Krzysztof Topolski (Arszyn, Ludzie) on percussion and Jacek Lachowicz (Ścianka) on keyboards.

Karol Pawlowski has been playing percussion with Kobiety since July 2002. With the line-up: Grzegorz Nawrocki, Anna Lasocka and Karol Pawlowski, and with guest musicians: Pawel Nowicki (Kwartludium) on vibraphone, Maciej Cieslak (Ścianka) on keyboards, Mikolaj Trzaska, (Loskot, Oles Trzaska Oles, ex Miłość) on baritone saxophone, Adriana Zjawiona on French horn and Mariusz Stawski on trombone, in the winter 2003/2004 the group recorded an album Pozwol Sobie, released by an independent lebel Mandarynka.

Pawel Nowicki joined the group after the recordings were completed. Since February 2004 Kobiety have been playing as a quartet again.

Grzegorz Nawrocki had his first band in Berlin, in the years 1989-93. After coming back to Poland he created a band called Ego, which existed till 1998. The band recorded an album Swiatowid, released by Antena Krzyku. Apart from playing with Kobiety, Grzegorz Nawrocki has also cooperated with other musicians of the independent scene, among others: Tymon Tymanski, Olaf Deriglasoff, Robert Brylewski, and - as a guest musician - featured on their albums (Kury, Yugoton).
