KILL THE WEEKEND

Kill the Weekend was formed by drummer Alister Gibbons and guitarist George Munroe when they met at college. They quickly recruited Leigh Wyatt on guitar, and the beginnings of the band took form. After experiencing the turmoil of gaining and losing numerous other members, bassist Tommy Pool and vocalist Tim Leftwich were brought in to complete the final line-up of this passionate, energetic band. Influenced by many artists including Deaf Havana, Young Guns, You Me at Six, Saosin, Lost Prophets, Blink 182, Emarosa, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Enter Shikari, Don Broco, Kill The Weekend take inspiration from the lives around them, the places, spaces and people that they love and hate. Despite the daily shenanigans of this bunch of lads there sound is mature, professional and catchy. It is ever evolving taking on more influences, yet still sits firmly within the alt/rock scene. They impress with their ability to switch to a full acoustic set which shows off their skill at being versatile musicians. Kill The Weekend have had successful collaborations with other bands including one with The Folk which will be appearing on their new EP. Their third EP is on the way Sept 2012, and along with numerous live gigs and radio, Kill the Weekend are ready to take over the world! They've played alongside Funeral For A Friend and Skindred and have been on the line-up for Guilfest. They've played live on the BBC after releasing their single 'Strength In Innocence' for charity and have been very well received on the BBC Introducing shows as well as a wide selection of local radio.
