About Katie Austin
A cowgirl boot with a stiletto heel - Katie Austin's music is a blend of her small town roots in Louisiana and her love of the music city lights! Whether she's performing one of her high energy, foot stomping songs or serenading you with a bone chilling melody, she has a musical identity that is genuine and found in all the songs she writes.
Shortly after Katie first moved to Nashville, She was discovered by the entertainment director of Cowboys Dance Hall venues. Cowboys moved her to Texas to become their female headliner for two years. Austin performed for thousands of two-stepping, beer drinking country lovers and also had the pleasure of opening for Joe Nichols, Rodney Atkins, Big and Rich, Collin Raye, Chris Young, and many more. After gaining irreplaceable experience on stage and life long friends and fans, Katie made her next move back to Music City.
The next chapter of her career involved a range of opportunities such as performing on the Carnival Cruise Lines ship The Ecstacy as well as the Carnival Magic debut along side Maroon 5. Katie was also the only female, out of 300 hundred entries, in the 2012 "Battle For The Saddle" finals for the world famous Wildhorse Saloon.
In 2017, she was a top five finalist in the national Folgers Jingle Contest in which she co-wrote a jingle called, "Rise And Shine". Shortly after the Folgers contest ended, Austin released her breakout single "Broken Record"and chose to enter it into the national Nash Next competition which was affiliated with NASH FM, Cumulus Media, Big Machine Label Group and Country Inns and Suites. After several months and rounds of the competition, which included fan participation and live performance judging, she scored herself a spot in the top ten finals judged by Kix Brooks of Brooks & Dunn, Songwriter Hall Of Fame writer Desmond Child, chart-topping entertainer Brantley Gilbert, Big Machine Label Group's president/CEO Scott Borchetta and Cindy Watts of the Tennessean.
With that momentum, Katie Austin then released an original, upbeat Christmas song, "Wrap Me Baby," and a music video that premiered on the CMT Music channel and landed in the #4 spot of the 12 pack countdown!
2017 proved to be an exciting year for the budding talent and 2018 is already off to a great start! Her latest single, "Save A Dance For Me" and all other song can be found on itunes, Spotify and most other digital retailers.
