Alessio Caltagirone (Kalta) began his career 10 years ago in Italy, performing as a dj in the capital city, Rome. In 2010, he made the transcontinental move to Miami in pursuit of his passion for the entertainment business and career advancement. At the age of 20, he was immersed in the South beach scene and became a weekly resident at many well-known venues. After a few years spent in Miami, Alessio packed his gear and moved to Chicago, attracted by the house music scene and culture. Quickly assimilating to the movement, he began to manage various recording studios and develop successful collaboration projects. Curating a solid network, he performed at some of the top events and festivals in the Midwest (Over 150 gigs in 2 years), with his projects Freak Island and AUGUSTII. With another opportunity to develop his talent, he moved to Los Angeles. Currently, Alessio keeps busy with gigs and studio sessions. His vision of music is incorporated into pop experiments and collaboration with musicians from all over the world. Recently featured in an interview by RaiTV, one of the largest TV networks in Italy, Alessio discussed music production and the importance of having an open mind as musician and trend-setter (translator may be necessary, see below).
