Jon Cole Music

Born in Monroe, Louisiana and raised in a minister's home Jon's first musical memories are unavoidably of southern gospel, though his ear quickly gravitated towards the crooners that starred in his parents favorite films; singers like Frank Sinatra, Bing Crosby, Danny Kay and Dean Martin. When he was seven his father signed him up for piano lessons. At age 15 Jon began songwriting and has been developing his craft ever since, tutored by Dove award winner Eric Champion among others. After highschool Jon attended Lee University in Cleveland, TN where he first studied jazz with the incomparable duo of Alan & Paula Wyatt. After that first year Jon moved back to metro-Atlanta and sought out teachers like Steve Dancz and Donald Brown in an effort acquire the skills necessary to bring to life the music he could only imagine at the time. Presently, his style is a composite of funky pop-rock up-tempo jams, Brian McKnight-meets-John Mayer ballads, with an occasional nod to the Blues.
