About JohnSchneider

John Richard Schneider III (born April 8, 1960) is an American actor, singer, writer and director. He is best known for his portrayals of Bo Duke in the ‘80s television series “The Dukes of Hazzard” and as Jonathan Kent on “Smallville,” and now Judge Jim Cryer in Tyler Perry’s “The Haves And The Have Not.” John has also appeared in many feature films and television films. John has also starred on Broadway in the hit plays “Grand Hotel” and “Chicago.”

John is also well known as a country music singer, releasing nine studio albums, as well as 18 singles and a Christmas Album. Some of his greatest hits include the number one singles, “I’ve Been Around Long Enough To Know,” “Country Girls,” “What’s A Memory Like You Doing In A Love Like This,” “Your’re The Last Thing I Needed Tonight.”

On the personal side, in 1982 John co-founded the Children’s Miracle Network of Hospitals to help suffering children. CMNH is affiliated with 170 children’s hospitals throughout the United States and Canada, and has raised 4.8 billion dollars, making it the largest children’s charity in the world. John has been, and still is, the spokesman for CMNH.

In recent years John, greatly inspired by Tyler Perry, has been focused on making his own films. His first film, “Smothered,” was a comedy horror story written and directed by John. While shooting “Smothered” on location in Holden, LA John had the idea to establish the John Schneider Studios. He then purchased the 58 acre property and has since completed filming five more films, “Like Son,” “Anderson Bench,” “Inadmissible,” “ One Month Out,” and “Tres Leches.”

John is also passionate about helping aspiring storytellers. He has started a film mentorship program at the studio.
