John-e

John-e was born in 1977 in Lisbon, but was in Macau and Hong Kong where he began his interest in Parties and Electronic Dance Culture. He grew up with the British movement in the early 90s, had the pleasure to follow DJs like Lee Burridge in his early stages, destroying clubs like the "Big Apple" and the famous "Fire" parties. It was undoubtedly the vibe and the music experienced in this age of gold in Hong Kong and Macau that defined his vision as a DJ. John-e was 16 when he scored his first "gig" in Coloane (Macau) and had residencies in clubs like UFO (Macau), I SPY (Hong Kong), SANTA FE (Thailand) Full Moon Party in Had Rin @ Paradise Bungalow (Thailand) Always believing in his passion for the culture and the music, he decides to leave Asia in 1997 Looking for new challenges and knowledge, Between 1998 to 2001 settled in London where he played regularly at clubs like "414" and "George IV" and acted in some Techno festivals. London was definitely a hot spot back in the day, where he had the chance to explore several musical genres: from "Break Beat", "Acid Techno", "Progressive", '' Minimal '', "Deep House", ''Disco'' or ''Funk'', the thirst for knowledge led him to play a wide variety of music styles. In 2001, John-e returns to Portugal, and quickly gains respect from local promoters and hard party punters. in 2004 Stereo Addiction is born, this project with his partner as a duo took him to the best festivals, Growing both in the national and international scene, John-e acts in events like Rock in Rio, Creamfields, Southwest, Neo Pop, Boom, Exit (Serbia), Mountain Fresh (Japan), Atlantic Waves (London ) among others. In these years was part of the collective '' The Providers '', and had the pleasure of playing for the best promoters and share the booth with Acts like: Underworld, Sasha & Digweed, Steve Bug, Infusion, Sander Kleinenberg, Dave Seaman, Trentemoler among many others. Between 2005 and 2006 is nominated for best '' New Commer '' Dj of the year by '' Danceclub '' magazine and Portugal Night magazine. Till today John-e is one of the drivers of the underground movement in Lisbon, Resident at infamous club '' Europa'' for more then 10 years, he had the chance to explore his own style, and have part in the birth of the best After-Hours in the city. As part of LXMusic Collective he shared the booth with Djs like: Chris Liebing, Adam Beyer, Anja Shcneider, Dave Clark, Pan-Pot, Troy Pierce, Truncate, John Dimas, Julian Perez, Marco Resmann, Jimpster, Djebali to name a few. Always devoted to search the best in every music genre, searching for intricate and deep voyages to tuff raw american house to acid or minimal techno, as a raver himself, never took much interest in music production, only having a few releases in labels like: Kismet Recordings, Vapour, Aroma Music, Global Scum, New Breed and Benthic. Today he keeps good relations in Berlin and London where acted in clubs like Fabric, The Egg, Cargo, Plastic People, Fire, Ritter Butzke, Mikz.
