Joe Moralez's laid-back style of pop music is reminiscent of very little you've ever heard before. It's the pop guilty pleasure you're not ashamed to tell your friends you listen to. His compilation of ballads are poetic in their imagery of the beauty of all life's circumstances. Moralez similarly captures the tug of war between his imagination and reality by encapsulating the places he wishes he could return to in his songs. He weaves his tapestry of autobiographical embellishments by lacing his tender, melancholy voice with melodic piano pop--reminiscent of Keane and Owl City. Where Keane and Owl City may venture into whimsical territory, Moralez manages to anchor that kind of imagery with a mature perspective on the present. His songwriting is full of the heightened awareness of the joys and pit falls of falling in love, and the emotion of his songs serves as the house that listeners find themselves happily living in. Beyond being easy to listen to, his music has meticulously crafted beats woven into vibrant tempos. It's sometimes electronic, and somewhat experimental with different effects and sound bites. One thing remains consistent throughout every song--an underlying layer of intricate piano verses swimming weightlessly through a sea of enchanting melodies.
