The vintage specs and razor-sharp fashion sense of Jim Breese scream bohemian hip. He’s a DJ-producer-label with a progressive and musical vision, one that is eternally evolving, maintaining a sharp focus on what’s aurally ‘happening’. Recently, he established his own achingly tasteful imprint, Balearic, handling all it's output whilst mixing and dubbing the productions. In 2018, the label releases it's fourth compilation in the eponymously self-titled series. After high praise, ‘Balearic 2’, released mid 2016, was named ‘Summers Best Compilation’ by Thump/Vice and the timeless direction has scoured fans globally with it's purist, analogue mind-set. Previously Jim launched the wildly successful KU DE TA album series, releasing ten volumes of killer albums for the beloved Bali based Sunset bar & restaurant. As a musical curator, his grasp of cutting edge sounds has led to roles as trusted album compiler for numerous global music brands, including Ministry of Sound. The Breese Ibiza connection is strong. He kicked off his DJ career in amazing style, when - still a teenager - he launched into a remarkable daily residency at Café Mambo - Ibiza’s seminal clubbing and sunset bar in 2001. Here, for three years, he’d spin for eight hours each day, then be joined by the World’s greatest DJs at night. With ‘BALEARIC’ his aim is to build a proper compilation series that people can rely on, one made with love and featuring a top quality, diverse selection of music from artists who embody that enduring Balearic spirit.
