About Jessica Jeza Vautor
Jessica is a singer and songwriter from the Caribbean Island of Martinique. Her father Robin Vautor, a gifted composer and guitarist and member of the Caribbean Jazz Band, “Fall Frett” groomed her for Jazz music. From an early age Jessica would perform with her dad’s band in concert and at festivals. At the age of 17, she left the island to study Jazz at the “Centre d’Information Musical”, the most prestigious Jazz School in Europe and Opera at the “Ecole Normale de Musique de Paris” one of the best French schools for classical music. She also attended the renown “Musicians Institute” in Los Angeles.
Jessica’s artistic journey has inspired her to revisits classic bossa nova songs with the particularity of restoring their vintage/classical DNA while enhancing their underlying Caribbean/ South American traits/grooves. The lyrics are adapted in French and Portuguese bringing back the sonorities of Bossa Nova’s golden age. The arrangements range from classicism to Caribbean accents to appeal to both listening and dancing moods.
Today Jessica lives in Los Angeles where she teaches at the Cornel School of Music, LACM ( Los Angeles College of Music) and the Silverlake conservatory of music and she’s is a resident performer at the Jazz incubator venue, “Blue Whale”. Jessica has collaborated with many talented artists and is currently working on her first solo album.
