About Jackie Bristow

At one, heartfelt and sophisticated, Jackie Bristow combines subtle but beautiful melodies and hooks that hypnotize the listener, demand complete surrender and then stick around with the backbone of a real friend.
2013 was a dream come true, Jackie was personally chosen by Bonnie Raitt to tour her home country New Zealand as Bonnie Raitt's opening act on the 2013 Slipstream tour. Also while touring down in New Zealand Jackie and her band performed at the CMC Rocks the Hunter 2013, which is the biggest country and roots festival down under.
New Zealand-born Bristow transplanted to the United States in 2005 after spending the past 4 years living in Austin Texas, Jackie is now based Los Angeles, California. Since coming to the US Jackie has built a great following and she was the opening act for internationally-acclaimed guitar legend Tommy Emmanuel in February 2011. Jackie and Tommy played to sold-out theaters across the country. Since that tour, Jackie has been the opening act for Marc Cohn, John Oates, John Waite, Bettye Lavette, B.J Thomas, Joe Ely, Marcia Ball, Charlie Robison, Rick Springfield, Bob Schneider, and Jimmy Lafave, Euge Groove, Ruthie Foster and Howard Jones, Howard Groenmeyer. In previous years Jackie toured with Art Garfunkel, Daniel Lanois, Madeline Peryoux, Jimmy Webb, Madeline Peryoux and many more.
Jackie's experience shines through and her live performances have captivated audiences. One reviewer of her 2011 tour opening for Tommy Emmanuel wrote: "Opening for a musical giant like Emmanuel would seem a daunting task, but Bristow was relaxed as her soulfully-seductive melodies reverberated within the auditorium. Her beautiful voice and earnest songs resonated with the audience, and they applauded her eagerly. Near the end of the show, Bristow joined Emmanuel on stage for an amazing duet that received a standing ovation.
Jackie’s songs have been used repeatedly in Australian and New Zealand film and television hit shows such as "Go Girls," "The Secret Life of Us," "Home and Away,""Outrageous Fortune," "Shortland Street," and "Go Big." Her original song "This is Australia" won Tourism Australia’s nationwide competition in 2004 (see televised interviews after her win). The recording, accompanied by the Sydney Symphony Orchestra, and video subsequently were featured in Tourism Australia's worldwide promotional campaigns for three years. In 2007, Air New Zealand played "Across the World" (from the "Crazy Love"album) for boarding passengers on its international flights. Music from her third album, "Freedom," was programmed into rotation at 7,000 Starbucks locations nationwide in the US.
Jackie has proven to be an artist who shows no signs of stopping. Jackie is working on her 4th album for release 2014.
