About Hypercolor

"Their songs are hauntingly beautiful..." - Richmond.com "The band plays an assortment of experimental folk, lush pop moments, and garage rock. Spalding’s vocals are reminiscent of The Cowboy Junkies or chilled-out Joan Jett." - Sounds of RVA "Hook laden rock band with two lead electric guitars, an attractive woman with a warm, honey-coated voice who played rhythm electric guitar and a flashy, rhythmic drummer all glued together by Chrissie’s thunderous bass. The original songs were well constructed, dramatic, had clever middle eights but often devolved into wild psychedelic tangents. I was impressed." - Ted Salin's FB status update After a night of lucid and startling dreams, Alexandra Spalding and Adrian Olsen woke up to write, play and record "Yellow Brick Road," an attempt to capture and externalize the sights and sounds of that other world. This song was the start and is part of their EP "Urz & Magda:" collection of songs intended to lure Cre More, Hugo Haggie & Chrissie Griffith into what is the now the fully realized Hypercolor. All songs were recorded and mixed by Adrian Olsen at Montrose Recording on a 1968 Daniel Flickinger console. Hypercolor just release 6 song EP titled Resonate on April 19th, 2014 www.hypercolor.bandcamp.com www.hypercolor.bandcamp.com www.twitter.com/HYPERCOLORful
