About Hope For Tomorrow

About: A strong minded 6 piece band, from Simi Valley, CA. Produced, and recorded at the Gravity Room by owner Robert Curtin. Hope for Tomorrow is dedicated to writing and performing music that is part of the progression of Post Hardcore/ Metalcore music. This 6 piece band is constantly pushing itself to come up with some of the most forward thinking songs in its genre. History: Formation, and Debut EP (2011) Hope For Tomorrow was founded by Jay Jay Harris, Justin Scott, and Dakota Gray in 2011. The band formed after writing "Shoots and Ladders" as an extra credit history project. The song was about Hiroshima, and Nagasaki, and the dropping of the nuclear bombs. After recording their first single, the members discussed amongst themselves about the idea of making an actual band. Once they had decided on doing so, they searched for other members to join. Introduced to one another through mutual friends, Dylan Bennett had joined as the clean vocalist. The band then released their first single "Shoots and Ladders" publicly with Dakota originally screaming. Still in search of another member, Trevor Edwards was brought in to the band shortly after as their second vocalist. Once the band had settled with the line up, they re-recorded "Shoots and Ladders," and added it to their debut EP titled "Overcome." After releasing their first EP, Overcome, the band had gained a large following. Receiving tons of attention for their sound, they made an impact on their local music scene. Departure of Dylan Bennett, and the release of Leeches (2011 - 2012) Dylan Bennett left the group in late 2011 to reconnect with god. Soon after, Bryce Clifton was referenced to the band, and quickly became a permanent member as he tried out by recording a cover of "Rudolph The Red Nosed Reindeer" as the new vocalist which was released on November 28th, 2011 (originally titled "A very Metalcore Christmas"). After the release of the holiday single, Guitarist Scott Downs joined the band. The band then hit the studio once again to record their new song titled "Leeches" which was released as a single in March of 2012. Departure of Dakota Gray, and the release of Picture Imperfect (2012) Shortly after the release of "Leeches" Dakota Gray resigned as the Guitarist on May 9th, 2012. Dakota stated in a video along with many in the band that there were no hard feelings and that he had personal problems he was dealing with in life. Dakota later joined a new band called Amongst The Chosen from Thousand Oaks, CA. Mid 2012 Guitarist Scott Downs resigned as the Guitarist to pursue a new project. Shortly after Guitarist Tyler Wohlner, and Guitarist Joey Brown had joined the band. The band had settled with Tyler Wohlner, and Joey Brown after writing together for a few months. Once they became permanent members, the band went into the studio late 2012 to record a new single with the new guitarists. The single was titled "Picture Imperfect" and was released November 23rd, 2012. Warped Tour, and New EP (2013 - 2014) With the support of their fans, Hope For Tomorrow won the chance to play the Vans Warped Tour 2013 in Ventura, CA. They won the spot through Ernie Ball's "Battle Of The Bands" and performed on June 23rd, 2013 drawing in more of a crowd than signed bands who later shared the stage. Shortly after getting off stage, the band had done an interview in the press room, and answered questions about the new EP. Trevor Edwards stated in the interview "We’re working on our second EP right now – we’re having some big guest vocals – we actually can’t say anything about that yet, but it’s gonna be vocals from a Rise band, so we’re really excited about that. As soon as that gets tracked and recorded, we’ll go the next step, which will be touring." New EP #Myriad coming soon! In the studio now.
