Homesick Hound Dogs

Homesick Hound Dogs is an alt-country/americana band that couldn't have happened anywhere besides New York City. A Californian banjo player, a songwriter / guitarist from North Carolina, a mandolin/fiddle player from Vermont and a Texan harmonica player crossed paths in Brooklyn in early 2012 and began brewing their own incendiary flavor of americana, drawing on their individual experiences with bluegrass, country, folk and punk rock. The lineup has since expanded to include a fiery fiddler from Upstate New York and an upright slapper from Long Island. With high-energy original songs about love, whiskey and other things that make life awkward and wonderful, the group strives to make the listener feel at home and surrounded by friends no matter where home might be. Keep an ear out for them at your local dive, backyard barbecue, or subway stop. Follow the hot banjo picking and the sweet harp trills and these guys are sure to satisfy your aural cravings like mama's home cooking straight from the oven after a long day pushing a plow (or paperwork).
