Go Tell The Mayor

Go Tell The Mayor are an up and coming Pop-punk quartet from in and around Kingston upon Thames, Surrey. Inspired by bands like You Me At Six, Fightstar, Deaf Havana and All Time Low, these aspiring musicians are writing their own tunes that sound just as good as those they’re listening to. They consist of dual vocalists Charlie Bogg and Patrick Doyle who, whilst sharing the roles of guitarists for the group, lead the band with their punchy riffs and clever harmonies. They’re supported by the riotous drums of Alex Houseago and the driving bass of Matt Ashwell, who, combined with the others manage a sound that is not often seen from those at such a young age. Their mature approach to the music they play, together with their energetic, charming stage presence and their intelligent lyrics, has come from a result of a variety of musical backgrounds, and previous experience of being in bands before, and so makes them a force to be reckoned with on the live scene. In the beginning of August 2012 Go Tell The Mayor went into the studio to record for the first time. The band worked with producer Daniel Smith who knew the genre well and was able to make the songs, whilst working closely with the quartet, sound tight and professional; together they truly captured the energy of one of their live performances. Having recently released their debut E.P. – “Fake As An Ocean” – the group is eager to return to the studio and record even more tracks for their steadily growing fan base to enjoy, based on the huge amounts of good feedback that followed their first sell-out release. Having sold out tickets for shows in Guildford, Kingston and even once in London, supporting bands like We Start Partys, Jody Has A Hitlist and The Afterparty, the Surrey based group are looking to gain exposure further afield. They have been relentlessly contacting promoters and other bands in an effort to get more opportunities to play their music. It won’t be long before this group is touring the UK if they keep up their momentum and maintain this clever attitude to their music. The fan-winning melodies give this four piece something that is undeniably addictive, but their winning quality is the unrivalled ambitions that make ‘Go Tell the Mayor’ a force to be reckoned with.
