About Gambardellas
Gambardellas in an alternative rock band born in 2012 by the will of Mauro Gambardella, a professional drummer who worked with different italian indie rock bands and artists (the R’s, George Merk and Paletti). “Sloppy Sounds”, the first album of the project, was released on February 2013 with BigWave Records. The album, produced by Fabio “FabzTheDale” Dalè and Mauro itself, was mixed by producer Fabio Trentini (Guano Apes). “Sloppy Sounds” was well acclaimed by critics and audience. The three singles taken from the album (Flash, Tito and Needs) were released on the three of the major italian musical web sites: Rockol (rockol.it), RollingStoneMagazine (rollingstonemagazine.it) and La Repubblica XL (xl.repubblica.it).
The Sloppy Sounds tour 2013 was composed by more than 40 gigs all over Italy and gave them the chance to open a few concerts of some of the major italian artists (such as Ministri, Fast Animals and Slow Kids, Aucan, King of the Opera, Il Pan del Diavolo).
On September 2013 Glenda Frassi (guitar-backing vocals) and Grethel Frassi (keys-backing vocals) joined officially the line up and Gambardellas became a proper band. On the same month the band recorded a new EP at IndieHub studio (Milan) titled “Ashes” (released on BigWave records on Feb. 2014). “Ashes” was produced by Giovanni Spinotti (former Bob Clearmountain assistant) and it represents a brand new musical landscape for the band: the sounds have become darker and heavier.
The Ashes tour 2014/2015 brought the band all over Italy and Europe for more than 60 gigs. Besides many opening concert for famous italian rock bands on July 31st 2014 Gambardellas performed at the Woodstock Poland Festival (750.000 people attending and a lineup composed by: Hatebreed, Volbeat and Skid row among overs).
In 2017 the band joined the Bagana Rock Agency roster and played as special guest with Alvarez Kings and Ritmo Tribale.
On april 2017 the band unleashed a new single “Won’t give up”, The song gives a glimpse of the new album that Gambardellas has recently recorded at the UpStudios – Italy: The sound has become even more heavy and groove oriented with a much more persistent use of dub synths and electronics.
The record will be released in the first part of 2018.
