About Friday Night Blues Jam with Mike Sedgewick
The Friday Night Blues Jam's early beginnings, began at the former Peppery Cat back in 2016. We gradually built up a following there and in early 2017, Mike & Robin moved to a new venue down the street, The Salty Dog. Ever since early spring, 2017, they have been building even more of a fan base & musician base, and continue to attract some of the best musicians in the GTA. On March 1st, 2020, the Salty Dog sadly closed its doors, however Mike & Robin have found a new home, in the Black Swan Tavern on the Danforth every Friday, with new special guests announced weekly! Mike Sedgewick is a talented, high energy and sought after guitar player throughout the city. Mike burst onto the scene in late Fall of 2015. From there, he has gained much attention through the city & beyond, with his blazing guitar solos, signature sound & all around amazing talent. You can find Mike at various venues around the city, including every 3rd Sunday of the month, hosting the Mike Sedgewick Blues Review, as part of the Linsmore Tavern's Sunday Blues Series.
Robin Hutchison co-runs & co-hosts the Friday Night Blues Jam with Mike and also performs as a singer, as well as being the MC. Robin started singing 5 years ago alongside Mike, and has been gradually building her repertoire. She can be found singing at the Friday Night Blues Jam, as well as performing at some other venues around the city.
