About Flux Forteana

Michael Robert Todd has been creating and playing music for the last 17 years of his life. Born and raised in up-state New York, Todd is best known for his 10+ years as the bassist of progressive rock band Coheed and Cambria. Originally a guitar player, Todd has developed his own unique style playing both bass guitar and guitar often incorporating what is known as the slapping technique. For his first solo project Flux Forteana, Todd is the principal songwriter. His writing is highly autobiographical and influenced by the likes of female folk musicians such as Ani DiFranco and Ingrid Michaelson as well as those that he grew up around - Joey Eppard of the band 3 and the other members of Coheed and Cambria. Todd's favorite baseball team are the Mets. Ben Stern has been playing upright bass since he was in fifth grade and had to stand on a milk-crate to reach the fingerboard. He transitioned from guitar to electric bass when he began taking lessons from Todd. In addition to Todd's teaching, Ben is influenced by bassists ranging from Ray Brown, to Geddy Lee, to Steve Harris. In his spare time, Stern is a Mechanical Engineering student at Tufts University and enjoys fixing, building, and ripping apart guitar electronics. Dyami Wilson has been playing music for the last twelve years of his life. Playing both guitar and piano his style is heavily influenced by jazz. Wilson is currently a part-time student at Berklee College of Music where he is pursuing a degree in General Studies. He originally hails from Clearwater, FL, but is an avid Red Sox fan. Todd and Wilson met at the famous Braintree Redline train stop where Todd asked Wilson for a cigarette.
