Fervency

Fervency began in mid 2010 with Thomas Blæsberg on synths, strings and composition co-collaborator Calvin Batley on vocals, lyrics and strings. Fervency encompasses the deeper, emotional aspects of heartfelt music and is reminiscent of great acts like Depeche mode and Nick cave, Leonard Cohen, even P.J. Harvey, at times, though always retaining the individuality that allows a band to be recognised in its own right. Deep, throbbing, analogue lines and smooth vocals, with unique and modern twists, take the band soaring to new levels with large onus placed upon the themes and poetry. The band utilises subject matter derived from acts of human and sociological 'fervency', found proliforating human civilisation over the ages, using ancient Gods and their mythos as well as modern philosphical schools of thought for inspiration; to marry lyrical context to the dark and moody analogue-synth work. The sense of modern electronica mixed with classic pop composition works as a solid foundation for the deep, romance of the male lead and brings excellent song writing and new ideas to the table. A video to the song 'why Blake is great' is under construction and the band looks forward to moving into the video technology market in the new year.
