Erica Bryan

My mom brought me to my first audition when I was 8 years old. I didn't make the cut. But the next year, I went back to the same audition, and got the part. I haven't stopped performing since. When I look back at it, I'm glad I didn't make the cut the first time, because that is when I learned the valuable lessons of hard work and persistence. From an early age, I realized that I am not afraid of failing, I am only afraid of never trying. With this mindset, I put my life in a U-Haul and left my hometown of Roswell, GA to pursue Musical Theatre in NYC. I rolled into Times Square at 4am and thought, "What in the world did I get myself into?" But, of course, I couldn't trade that experience for anything. While there, I got to train with Broadway's best, travel the country with leading roles, and become both a better performer and a stronger person. After one of my shows, I felt that God was leading me in a new direction. So, I grabbed my red cowboy boots and headed to Nashville, TN, where I knew all of 3 people. Through many divine interventions, I found myself spending my days on Music Row and getting the opportunity to collaborate with great musicians and songwriters. I realized that my goal for theatre and songwriting are one in the same: to make people feel something. It's not that I left theatre behind, it's that theatre has enhanced my new journey of being an artist. I can't wait to share my first single with you in the next few months.
