About Ellen Woloshin
Born into a musical family, her father (the late Sid Woloshin), a violinist-turned ad man, wrote and produced one of the most powerful jingles of all time, “You Deserve A Break Today,” for McDonald's. Woloshin began her career in the “family business” singing and writing jingles for products like Crystal Light, Pearle Vision, Kentucky Fried Chicken and many more before embarking on the path of singer/songwriter.
Known for her interpretations of well-known pop songs, Woloshin incorporates those songs into her live performances along with her original works. Her rendition of George Harrison’s “While My Guitar Gently Weeps” from her 2001 release “Tried & True,” was well received by critics. The song received airplay on the BBC by presenter Desmond Carrington followed by his debuting of one of her original songs, “Let It Go Now,” from her 2009 release “Water Into Wine."As a performer she has shared the stage with artists like Laura Nyro, Bill Stains and Jim Dawson. Woloshin co-wrote “The Promise Of Life” with composer Ira Antelis which was recorded by Dionne Warwick to help raise money for Sudden Infant Death Syndrome. Woloshin and Antelis also wrote “Dance For Heart” recorded and performed by Ben Vereen for The American Heart Association.”
In 2010, Woloshin was invited to be a contributor to Music Connection Magazine, reviewing live shows, writing articles and conducting interviews.
