DJ Taylor Michael

Starting at the age of eleven, Taylor Michael received his first set of turntables and never looked back. His style is a mixture of everything from funk to punk, rock to hip-hop, disco to electro and everything in between. It is a combination of what he grew up listening to, what he enjoys with his friends, and what he hears on a daily basis. “All of these elements manifest the music I love to play and create.” With over ten years experience behind the decks Taylor Michael has something for everybody; "It comes from being a house party DJ, school dance DJ, wedding DJ and over all music lover." Taylor has an extreme appreciation for the art of turntablism, which involves scratching, beat juggling, and technical skills using a turntable. He always incorporates new technology to further his skills and knowledge as a DJ. At the age of nineteen, Taylor began playing clubs in his hometown of Reno, Nevada. He began with a residency at The Freight House District and later at Bubinga Ultra Lounge in the Eldorado Casino. “DJing at the clubs really strengthened my skills. Everyone is there to have a good time, everything is live and fast pace - you have to be on point!” Taylor continues to release new mixes and mashups, including his seasonal Jump Off mixes. His signature mashups include the hits: “You Don’t Know Shots” and “Bass Heads Say Oh Yeah.” These are perfect examples of how Taylor Michael combines different elements and genres to create his own. Creating new mixes, mashups and edits keeps his creativity driven and constantly evolving. In 2012, Taylor moved to San Diego, California to further his career in the industry. He brings a passion and skill to the scene that is respected by veterans and accepted by new comers.
