ITA La storia dei DISPOsitivoperilanciobliquodiunasferetta nasce nel 1997. I quattro scelgono il loro nome,"illuminati" dalla descrizione di un congegno raffigurato in un libro di fisica del liceo, decidendo così (quasi involontariamente) quale sarà il destino stesso del gruppo: divertirsi nel tentare di applicare una concezione scientifica per racchiudere la formula del loro suono, ma utilizzare nell'atto pratico espedienti per nulla accademici o teorici, bensì paragonabili ai processi mentali di un bambino che si trova davanti ad un cumulo di costruzioni senza però avere con sè le istruzioni per montarle insieme. I quattro si muovono tra lo spazio delineato dalle sonorità new progressive alla Usaisamonster ed Ahleuchatistas (nonchè i nostri connazionali Io Monade Stanca), il post rock anni ' 90 (vd. Tortoise e Polvo) ed il math rock moderno (vd. Battles) con un particolare gusto per le melodie sghembe alla Deerhoof. Nel corso della loro carriera hanno diviso il palco con gruppi del calibro di: Zu, The Usaisamonster, Chinese Stars, Clinic, Old Time Relijun, Ronin, Stig Noise, Aids Wolf, Ahleuchatistas, Capillary Action ed Ufomammut, diventando un piccolo nome di culto nel panorama underground capitolino, e non solo: dopo un tour europeo con i mitici Sax Ruins, a marzo entreranno in studio per registrare il loro secondo album. ENG DISPO(sitivoperilanciobliquodiunasferetta)'s story began in 1997. Its four memberes chose their name when they were "enlightened"by the description of a device pictured in a physics book, thus deciding (almost involuntarily) the destiny of the band itself:to gain enjoyment from the attempted application of a scientific concept which would enclose the formula to their sound, through a completely non-accademical approach. Much in the same way a child would do, if given a contruction kit without the instructions. In 2007 their first self-produced 3 track release, "La Gente Mormora" was out, already exhibiting their histrionic and multifaceted character.This process was finally concluded with the completion of their first full length album,"Rembrandt Era Eccezionale (Con Tutte Quelle Luci)", released in May 2009 through Ultra Hertz Records, Lemming Records e Respira Records a trio of small yet fierce DIY labels.In that year Giorgio became a stable member (already a guitarist in their spastic free rock project, "Double K.O.") as third guitarist, bringing new lifeblood and a more articulated yet solid sound to the group's music. Dispo's sound dwells in that space between new progressive (a la "Usaisamonster", "Ahleuchatistas" and the italian band "Io Monade Stanca"),90's post rock (see "Tortoise" and "Polvo"), and modern math rock (see "Battles"), all accompanied by an attraction towards crooked pop melodies a la "Deerhoof". They evolved into a small cult name in the Roman (and national) underground panorama, to the sound of odd time signatures, sharp guitars and ultra-catchy synths. they actually working on their second full length album to be released late September 2012. During the course of their career they have shared the stage with groups such as:ZU, The Usaisamonster, Chinese Stars, Clinic, Old Time Relijun, Aids Wolf, Ahleuchatistas, Capillary Action and Ufomammut.They have toured Europe with Stig Noise Sound System and recently with the legendary Japanese avant-prog band Sax Ruins, taking part also at the prestigious Rock In Opposition Festival.
