About Digbii
Bringing a fresh sound to the Milwaukee jazz scene, Digbii delivers a powerful blend of original composition and improvisation. Creating and performing music with heartfelt emotion, Digbii takes inspiration from diverse influences including Steely Dan, John Coltrane, David Bowie, Mose Allison, Buena Vista Social Club and The Bad Plus.
Digbii’s debut albut “Lonely Star” was released in June of 2017 to critical acclaim. “There’s a strong jazz component as well as a strong '70's rock component (think Steely Dan or maybe even Elton John) that makes for a pleasant surprise” said Ben Gray at Nextbop.com
Digbii was formed in 2014 by keyboardist Craig Rigby to share years of his original piano compositions. Craig was joined by bassist Dave Dinauer and drummer Jay Arpin, both long time Milwaukee jazz musicians and former members of Clamnation. In 2016, Saxophonist Ryan Meisel of the Montauk Project rounded out the group.
Digbii has gained a solid following with regular performances around Milwaukee including 2017 Summerfest (Johnson Controls Soundstage), The Jazz Estate, Riverwest’s iconic Jazz Gallery, the Milwaukee County Parks Beer Gardens, as well as a variety of local street festivals. The connection formed with the audience during these performances is palpable and provides the energy that Digbii uses to power their live shows.
