Every once in a while you come across a song or album that you can’t help but listen to over and over. Like a great book or movie it speaks to you and you notice more with each read or listen. This “unique depth” is what makes Still Time lead singer Dan Curcio’s songs both genuine and alive. Curcio, frontman and lyricist for San Luis Obispo favorite Still Time has garnered a very loyal grassroots fan base through the band’s eclectic mix of rock, blues, funk, and a bit of country. “For us, it’s important that each song has it’s own separate life, but in a subtle way fits in with the rest on the album and makes sense in context of the record.”, says Curcio. Now looking to expand his abilities as a singer-songwriter, Curcio is beginning to perform on his own. As with Still Time, Curcio wants his shows to be a well thought out experience and is working hard to create a stage vibe that will take the audience away from their stresses for a couple hours. “I’m really looking forward to the more intimate connection I can have with people on my own. I think this will fuel better songs in the future both for Still Time and myself, but most importantly I want to connect with people more through my music. That is why I do this music thing and sometimes in a large band setting that is very difficult to do.” Curcio is currently working on both a 3rd Still Time album and his debut solo record and his website dancurcio.com is a work in progress but should be up with more details very soon.
